Popular Yogurt Brand YoCrunch Recalls Products Due to Plastic Contamination

Yogurt is a popular, healthy snack loved by many for breakfast or quick bites. YoCrunch stands out with its fun dome-toppers filled with candy, granola, or cookie pieces that mix into creamy yogurt for extra flavor and crunch. However, YoCrunch has recently been recalled nationwide after plastic bits were found in these toppers.

Danone US, the company behind YoCrunch, acted quickly after customers reported seeing small plastic fragments in the product’s dome toppings. The pieces, measuring between 7 and 25 millimeters, pose choking risks or internal injuries if swallowed. Since most people mix the toppings into the yogurt, consuming a contaminated product can be dangerous.

The recall covers all sizes and flavors of YoCrunch yogurt with dome toppers, especially those with “Best By” dates between July 7 and September 4, 2025. Shoppers across the United States are urged to check their refrigerators and return any affected products. Although no injuries have been reported, experts stress the seriousness of ingesting plastic, particularly for children.

The plastic contamination was limited to the topping sections, but because these are combined with the yogurt during eating, the recall affects the entire package. Danone is working with the FDA to investigate the problem and ensure stronger safety measures moving forward.

Consumers who find affected products should avoid eating them and contact Danone for a refund or replacement. Anyone who has already consumed the yogurt and experiences choking, mouth irritation, or stomach discomfort should seek medical help immediately and report the issue to the FDA.

While food recalls can be alarming, they are an important step to protect public health. Danone’s swift response ensures customers’ safety and highlights the importance of vigilance in food packaging and inspection. This incident reminds us all to regularly check expiration dates and recall news to keep our families safe.
