Jason Momoa, the star known for his iconic beard, surprised many fans when he shaved it off after six years. The 45-year-old actor shared a video on Instagram on July 30 showing the moment he removed his famous facial hair.
Momoa explained that the change was part of a meaningful campaign to reduce single-use plastic waste. He wrote about launching his brand Mananalu to fight plastic pollution and announced a new partnership with GetBoomerangWater. This project introduces a closed-loop water system that cleans and bottles water onsite, cutting down on waste, shipping emissions, and encouraging reuse of aluminum bottles.
In the video, Momoa joked that he hated his new look, telling filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, “Only for you, Denis.” Fans reacted strongly, posting on social media about how different he looked without the beard.
Jason’s son Nakoa-Wolf is also making waves, starring alongside Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in the upcoming Dune 3 movie. Momoa praised his son’s independent success, dismissing suggestions of nepotism and calling him talented and hardworking.
