Karine, from Brazil, was diagnosed at age three with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a serious condition that makes her skin extremely sensitive to sunlight and at high risk for skin cancer. Because of this, she must always protect her skin, even indoors, using strong SPF100 sunscreen. The condition is rare and incurable, meaning even brief sun exposure can cause painful burns and dangerous skin lesions.
Throughout her life, Karine has undergone about 130 surgeries to remove these lesions, some causing her to lose parts of her lower lip and nose. Aside from the physical challenges, she has faced judgment and cruelty from strangers and even online comments, making her journey even tougher.

Yet Karine’s spirit stays strong. She found love through social media with Edmilson, who admired her strength and story. He embraced not only her but also her three children from a previous relationship, proving their love is genuine and unconditional.
Despite their happiness, negative comments surfaced online, with people questioning their relationship and making hurtful remarks. Still, Karine remains positive and encourages others to embrace life with joy.
