Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s Ex-Husband, Passes Away at 48

Brandon Blackstock, formerly married to singer Kelly Clarkson and also her former manager, has died at the age of 48 after a courageous battle with cancer lasting over three years. His family shared the news in a statement, expressing sorrow and gratitude for the support they have received during this difficult time. They asked for privacy as they grieve his loss.

Blackstock’s illness was revealed shortly before his death when Kelly Clarkson postponed some of her Las Vegas residency shows to focus on her family. The couple shared two children—daughter River and son Remington—and had separated in 2022 after nearly a decade of marriage.

As the son of Narvel Blackstock, a longtime talent manager and former husband of country music star Reba McEntire, Brandon was well known in the music industry. In addition to managing Clarkson, he also managed country star Blake Shelton. He had two children from a prior marriage as well.

Brandon passed peacefully, surrounded by family, leaving behind a lasting legacy in music and a private, complex family life marked by devotion to his children.
