Newborn Baby Breathes on His Own After Life Support is Turned Off, Stopping Doctors in Their Tracks

When baby Karson was born with serious health problems, his family faced unimaginable pain. He was born with a brain hemorrhage and diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Non-ketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH). Doctors warned that his condition was severe, and Karson was not expected to develop beyond a few months old. After careful consideration, his mother made the heartbreaking choice to remove him from life support, prepared to say goodbye.

But then something extraordinary happened. Just moments after the ventilator was turned off, Karson began breathing on his own. His heart rate and oxygen levels stabilized, stunning his family and medical team. He started swallowing and even opened his eyes a few times. Despite all odds, Karson defied medical expectations, leaving doctors amazed and calling it a miracle.

His grandmother, Lisa, shared the journey on social media, expressing deep gratitude and noting that while no one knows how long Karson will be with them, they are cherishing every moment with their brave little fighter. After months in the hospital, Karson was finally able to go home, symbolizing hope and the power of faith amidst despair.
