Early Sunday morning in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a mass shooting occurred inside the Taste of the City Lounge. Police responded to emergency calls just before 3:30 a.m. and discovered that three men had been killed while eight others sustained injuries.
The victims who died were men aged 27, 35, and one man whose age remains undisclosed. The wounded were hospitalized and reported to be in stable condition. Police say “multiple shooters” were involved, and recovered over 30 shell casings at the scene.
An investigation is underway, with no suspects apprehended yet. Officers also found a gun near the scene but are still investigating if the weapon was involved. Despite the shooting, the NYPD highlighted that shooting incidents this year have been at historic lows.
Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the shooting as a “terrible thing” and urged the public’s cooperation as the investigation progresses.
