Kristin Cavallari, known from reality TV, recently opened up about why her two youngest children, aged 9 and 11, still sleep in her bed. Speaking on her Let’s Be Honest podcast, Cavallari revealed that her son Jaxon would come into her room every night for four straight years after realizing he could get out of his own bed.
Now, Cavallari says she allows both Jaxon and her daughter Saylor to sleep in her bed one night per week. She explained that when school started, she set this schedule to balance their needs and her own.
“I do enjoy sleeping with them,” she shared, “but the challenge is in the morning because I get up before them. I have to be very quiet brushing my teeth, washing my face, and getting dressed so I don’t wake them.”
Cavallari’s co-parenting situation involves her ex-husband Jay Cutler; they share three children: Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9.
The reality star also talked about how Jaxon was a difficult baby with FOMO—fear of missing out—which led him to take very short naps and seek comfort with her at night.
Her candid story sparked debate online. Many parents praised her honesty and shared that co-sleeping is common around the world and a source of comfort. One commenter on Reddit wrote, “Childhood goes by so fast; let them sleep with you while they want.”
Others raised concerns about potential social challenges for the children or disrupted parental sleep.
For Cavallari, balancing parenting and a desire for personal space remains a work in progress. She appreciates the moments shared with her kids but also the need for quiet mornings.
Her story has resonated with many families navigating similar challenges, reflecting the varied approaches to co-sleeping and parent-child bonding.
