What was supposed to be a relaxing family camping trip in Colorado turned into a chilling unsolved murder case. Mark Langford, his wife Lisa, and their nine-year-old son Andrew left their Denver home on August 9, 2019, filled with excitement for a weekend in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. They packed everything needed—tent, food, gear—and were last seen entering the park in the early evening.
When they did not show up the next day, no immediate alarm was raised. But rangers eventually found their tent overturned near a cliff, and beneath a blood-soaked tarp lay the bodies of all three, hands and feet bound. Forensic investigation revealed they had been killed around 10 p.m. the first night by blunt force trauma. Their car was nearby, still packed with unused equipment, but some items like backpacks and a flashlight were missing.
The investigation pointed to a suspect named Greg Hansen, a rafting guide with a shadowy past, who vanished after arguments near the campsite. His connection to a kayak and suspicious sightings made him a prime target, but despite thorough searches and FBI involvement, he remains at large. This tragic case remains a haunting reminder of the dangers hidden even in peaceful nature escapes.
