New details have emerged about Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk. After the shocking shooting at Utah Valley University on September 10, Robinson reportedly sent disturbing messages to friends, revealing chilling insights into his actions and mindset.
Kirk, a prominent right-wing figure, was fatally shot while speaking at an event. Robinson fled the scene before authorities launched a widespread manhunt. The suspect’s own father eventually convinced him to surrender, fearing the death penalty.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox disclosed that investigators found messages between Robinson and his roommate discussing retrieving a rifle from a “drop point” and monitoring the weapon’s location. Some of these messages were initially misunderstood, but officials clarified they were from the roommate referencing notes left by Robinson.
More recently, Robinson joked on Discord about being mistaken for his “doppelganger” who supposedly shot Kirk, making light of the FBI’s released photos. He also mocked inscriptions found on the ammunition and blamed a supposed briefing room figure for their presence.
Robinson is now held without bail, charged with aggravated murder and weapons offenses. Authorities note that Robinson’s roommate, who was in the process of transitioning, was also his romantic partner. Despite his detention, Robinson has refused to cooperate with investigators.
This new information highlights the suspect’s troubling behavior following the assassination and adds complexity to the ongoing investigation into this tragic and high-profile case.
