Alice Bell, the beloved first wife of Al Roker and mother to their daughter Courtney, has died at the age of 77. Courtney announced her mother’s passing on February 11 through a moving Instagram post, describing Alice as her heart and a loving grandmother to her child Sky. She revealed she was by her mother’s side in her last moments and will carry her love forever.
The tribute included nostalgic photos of Courtney and Alice, as well as recent images showing Alice with oxygen support while holding Sky. Condolences poured in from friends and colleagues, including former Today show co-host Tamron Hall.
Al and Alice were married for ten years and adopted Courtney during their marriage. Al Roker is now married to Deborah Roberts, and together they have two children, Leila and Nicholas. Despite Alice’s preference for privacy, her presence was deeply felt within the family.
