Ukrainian model Maria Kovalchuk nearly lost her life after attending a so-called “porta potty” party in Dubai, a controversial trend where wealthy men allegedly lure models into exploitative situations under false pretenses.
Maria, who has thousands of followers on Instagram and OnlyFans, missed her flight to Thailand and instead was invited by a Russian man to a party with businessmen at a luxury hotel. Despite initial promises of a private plane trip, she encountered harassment and pressure to perform degrading acts, which she refused.
Her refusal led to intimidation, including smashed glass and being physically confined. She was dragged back into the venue after attempting to flee and later likely thrown from a roof, suffering severe injuries including a fractured spine and scalp wounds.
Maria was missing for over a week, her family fearing she had been sold into sexual slavery. When finally found, she was bloodied and unable to walk without assistance.
Officials report the party was part of a larger sex trafficking ring operating in Dubai’s wealthiest neighborhoods. CCTV footage from the area was allegedly wiped, complicating investigations.
Some suspects were briefly detained but no formal charges followed, highlighting ongoing dangers for vulnerable women in the city’s glamorous but dark nightlife.
