At the memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump publicly set aside tensions that had marked their relationship earlier this year. Musk’s two-word explanation for their reunion on social media was simply: “For Charlie.”
The memorial, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, brought together thousands to honor Kirk, including high-profile figures like Trump, Musk, and Vice President JD Vance.

Musk posted a photo of himself with Trump captioned “For Charlie” on his social media platform X. He also shared a tweet quoting Erika Kirk’s forgiveness of her husband’s alleged killer, emphasizing themes of mercy and reconciliation.
The two had a rocky few months marked by Musk’s departure from Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency due to policy disagreements and public disputes over political issues and allegations involving Jeffrey Epstein.
However, their shared respect for Kirk helped mend fences, seen as a significant moment of unity amid political divides. Trump called their brief reunion “nice” and appreciated Musk reaching out.
