Prince Harry is reportedly “extremely angry” and “horrified” by a video Meghan Markle shared while visiting Paris, where she filmed parts of a nighttime limo ride including the Pont de l’Alma Bridge. This bridge leads to the tunnel where Princess Diana tragically died in a car crash in 1997.
The Pont de l’Alma tunnel has become a solemn memorial visited by many mourning Diana, who died at age 36 alongside boyfriend Dodi Fayed. Prince Harry has visited the tunnel himself, driving the route his mother took on that fatal night.
Meghan’s video showed the bridge and nearby landmarks during Paris Fashion Week while she relaxed in a car, something fans and royal observers felt was deeply insensitive given its association with Diana’s death. Social media backlash described the video as “tasteless” and disrespectful, with some urging Meghan to remove her royal title.
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told OK! Magazine that although Meghan’s mistake was genuine and likely unintended, Harry’s reaction is fierce because of the trauma surrounding his mother’s death. The video is said to have seriously strained Harry’s ability to publicly defend his wife.
