Harrison Ford Unleashes Fierce Critique on Trump’s Climate Stance

Hollywood legend Harrison Ford, known for playing heroic figures like Indiana Jones, is channeling that same passion into a real-world battle against climate change. The actor, who has served as the vice-chair of Conservation International since the 1990s, has long been a prominent voice for environmental causes. His advocacy work has taken him from promoting charities to addressing world leaders at the United Nations’ Climate Action Summit. Now, Ford has directed a powerful and unfiltered critique towards former President Donald Trump, expressing deep alarm over his approach to the global climate crisis.

In a recent interview, Ford did not mince words when discussing Trump’s environmental policies, or what he perceives as a lack thereof. The actor stated that Trump operates on whims rather than coherent strategies, a mode of governance that Ford finds deeply frightening. He expressed profound concern over the direction of environmental leadership, framing the issue as one of grave global importance that transcends typical political disagreements. For Ford, this is not a matter of partisan politics but a fundamental question of planetary survival and responsible stewardship.

Ford’s criticism extended to a sharp condemnation of Trump’s character and actions. He described the former president’s tenure as being marked by ignorance, hubris, and a disregard for scientific truth. The actor went so far as to label Trump an “instrument of the status quo” who profits while the world faces escalating environmental disasters. In one of his most pointed remarks, Ford declared that he did not know of a “greater criminal in history,” underscoring the depth of his conviction and the seriousness with which he views the potential consequences of climate inaction.

The veteran actor’s concerns are rooted in his long-standing observation of climate science. Receiving a conservation leadership award in Chicago, Ford emphasized that the predictions scientists have made over the past three decades have consistently proven to be accurate. He expressed frustration that this overwhelming evidence has not yet led to the large-scale behavioral changes necessary to avert crisis, blaming powerful, entrenched interests for maintaining a damaging status quo. Ford believes that Trump’s dismissal of climate science is losing credibility because it is fundamentally at odds with observable reality.

This is not the first time Ford has used his platform to oppose Trump. As a lifelong Democrat, he has previously supported the campaigns of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. He also collaborated with the anti-Trump Republican group, The Lincoln Project, alongside his “Star Wars” co-star Mark Hamill, to create election advertisements. His latest comments reinforce his position as a dedicated and outspoken advocate for the environment, willing to confront powerful figures he believes are leading the world down a dangerous path.
