After experiencing two terrifying break-ins at their residence, Hollywood power couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have announced their decision to leave Los Angeles in search of a safer and more peaceful environment.
In a candid conversation on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast, Hawn shared the harrowing details of the burglaries that made them feel vulnerable in their own home. “The break-ins were terrifying,” she revealed, describing how the thieves evaded their security systems and stole valuables during the first incident.
The second break-in, which occurred just four months after they upgraded their home’s defenses, was even more disturbing. “They entered through what we thought was a locked door,” Hawn added, explaining how the experience left her feeling anxious and constantly on guard.
Unfortunately, Hawn and Russell’s experience is not an isolated incident. In recent months, Los Angeles has seen a surge in high-profile crimes targeting celebrity residences. Social media influencers Corinna Kopf and King Bach have also fallen victim to similar crimes.
According to recent LAPD reports, these crimes are often part of sophisticated operations targeting affluent neighborhoods. As a result, many high-profile residents have been reevaluating their ties to the city.
After careful consideration, Hawn and Russell have decided to relocate to a more tranquil and secure environment. They are currently exploring options, including Palm Desert, a more secluded neighborhood that offers the peace and quiet they now seek.
“We’ve loved L.A. for many reasons, including the opportunities, culture, and energy, but the risks have become too great,” Hawn explained. “Safety and peace of mind are our top priorities now. It’s time for us to move on.”
As they prepare to leave the city they have called home for so long, Hawn and Russell are looking forward to starting a new chapter and focusing on their priorities. Fans have taken to social media to offer support and well wishes for the couple’s new adventure.
“Sometimes, you have to make tough choices to protect what matters most,” Hawn concluded during her podcast interview. “For us, that’s our family and our sense of security.”
