Controversial Remarks Lead to Resignation of NYU College Republicans President

Kaya Walker, the president of the NYU College Republicans, has stepped down following her controversial comments about Barron Trump. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Walker described Barron, who is now a student at NYU, as “sort of like an oddity on campus” and noted his limited interactions due to Secret Service protection.

The remarks drew criticism, prompting the College Republicans of America (CRA) to issue a statement distancing themselves from Walker’s comments. While they acknowledged that Vanity Fair’s framing may have been unfair, they deemed the remarks inappropriate. Walker resigned shortly after the controversy.

The CRA used the opportunity to express their support for Donald Trump and extend an invitation to Barron to join their organization, praising his potential as a future conservative leader.
