A tragic fire at a nightclub in Kočani, North Macedonia, has left at least 60 people dead and over 155 injured, many with severe burns. The blaze broke out during a concert by the hip-hop duo DNK, ignited by pyrotechnics used for lighting effects. The fire spread rapidly due to the club’s flammable ceiling, causing a deadly stampede as attendees scrambled to escape.
The band’s singer, Andrej Gorgieski, was among the victims after he bravely re-entered the burning building to help others. Several minors also lost their lives, adding to the devastation of the tragedy.
Neighboring countries, including Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia, have offered their support in the aftermath. North Macedonia’s Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski, expressed deep sorrow and called for unity, urging the nation to rally around the affected families.
