A Flight Attendant’s Witty Answer to a Child’s Question

A mother and her young son were on a Southwest Airlines flight from Kansas City to Chicago when the boy, fascinated by the view outside, asked his mother a curious question. “If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats,” he wondered, “why don’t big planes have baby planes?”

The mother, unsure how to respond, encouraged her son to ask the flight attendant. The boy walked up to the attendant and repeated his question. The attendant, with a twinkle in her eye, asked, “Did your mother tell you to ask me?” When the boy said yes, she replied, “Tell your mother there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. Have her explain that to you.”

The flight attendant’s quick wit and playful response turned a simple question into a humorous moment that left the passengers smiling. It was a reminder of how a little creativity can make even the most routine flight memorable.
