Scotty McCreery’s two-year-old son, Avery, is already stealing hearts—and proving he’s inherited his dad’s musical genes. A newly shared video shows the toddler flawlessly singing a line from George Strait’s “The Chair,” and it’s as adorable as it is impressive.
Filmed in what appears to be a recording studio, the clip captures McCreery holding his son near a microphone, their reflections visible in a glass pane. But it’s Avery’s sweet, confident voice that shines as he nails the classic tune. When McCreery asks, “Who sings that song?” Avery’s quick, proud reply—“George Strait!”—shows he’s already a mini expert on country music’s legends.

Given McCreery’s own devotion to Strait (he penned “Damn Strait” as an homage), it’s no surprise Avery’s being raised on a soundtrack of timeless hits. The little one’s no newcomer to performance, either—he’s been joining his dad on stage since infancy and even got a toy drum set for his second birthday.
Was this just a fun father-son jam session, or a hint of things to come? Either way, Avery McCreery’s got the makings of a future star.
