“Ma’am, you were going 20 over the limit,” the officer stated. The driver shrugged. “Sounds about right. Though with four DUIs on my record, speeding’s the least of my worries.” The officer paused, not expecting this confession.
“Actually,” she continued conversationally, “this isn’t even my car. Stole it this morning after… well, let’s just say the previous owner won’t be reporting it missing.” The officer’s hand hovered over his weapon as he called for urgent backup.
When five police cars arrived, the senior officer demanded the truth. “Did you harm someone to get this vehicle?” The woman looked shocked. “Harm someone? Officer, what kind of person do you take me for?”
After finding nothing suspicious in the car, she suddenly produced a pristine driver’s license. “Oh, you meant THIS license? Gosh, that other officer must have been pulling your leg about me!”
