A Tale of Karma and Solar Lights

Cecelia, a single mother, had been living in her cozy neighborhood with her 10-year-old daughter, Lily, for five years. They loved their home and spent many evenings sitting in their garden, surrounded by soft-glowing solar lights that they had installed together. However, their peaceful evenings were disrupted when a new neighbor, Meredith, moved in and began complaining about the lights.

Meredith demanded that Cecelia remove the lights, claiming they were shining into her bedroom window and keeping her awake. Despite Cecelia’s explanations that the lights were solar-powered and not very bright, Meredith wouldn’t budge. She even threatened to involve the authorities if Cecelia didn’t comply.

Feeling pressured, Cecelia decided to take down the lights to avoid any conflict. But little did she know, karma had other plans. The next morning, Meredith showed up at her doorstep, frantic and disheveled. It turned out that the raccoons from the nearby forest had invaded her garden the previous night, destroying her expensive flowers and plants.

Meredith begged Cecelia to put the solar lights back up, claiming that the lights had kept the raccoons away. However, Cecelia had had enough of Meredith’s entitled behavior and refused to help her. Instead, she suggested that Meredith call a professional to deal with her yard.

As it turned out, Cecelia’s decision to remove the lights had unintended consequences for Meredith. The story serves as a reminder that our actions can have unexpected repercussions, and sometimes, karma can be quite literal. In the end, Cecelia and Lily put their solar lights back up, and Meredith was left to deal with the aftermath of her own making [1].
