Richard Huff, 51, has over 240 tattoos covering most of his body, including his face. Many people assume his appearance says everything about him, and sadly, he’s faced negative comments about being a parent because of his tattoos. But Richard’s wife, Marita, shared a different story—one that surprises many.
Richard started tattooing years ago, working his way up from his legs to cover about 85% of his body, including his children’s names and even a print of his daughter’s lips. He admits tattoos are an obsession fueled both by the pain and the art itself.

His kids don’t find him scary, though some classmates once did. His daughter spoke up once about how people called him scary just because of his tattoos, but she knows he’s a kind dad. Marita, his wife, even said she was hesitant at first but realized how caring he really is.
Marita often posts about Richard’s love for their family, praising him as a wonderful husband and father who’s stepped up to care for her children from earlier relationships. Richard is involved too, attending school events and PTA meetings.
Despite this, online trolls still criticize him, especially his face tattoos. But Richard says negative judgments say more about the people making them than about him. To him, their happiness and family life are what truly matter.
He believes his tattoos offer his kids a unique outlook on life and do not affect how good a father he is. In the end, the love and bond they share outshine any harsh opinions.
