Concern Grows Over JD Vance’s “Strange” Remarks on Trump’s Health

Vice President JD Vance recently sparked worry online with his unusual comments about President Donald Trump’s health. Over the past months, Trump’s well-being has become a topic of intense speculation, partly because of a noticeable bruise on his hand. The White House initially said this was just from shaking hands frequently, despite attempts to cover it up with makeup.

Adding to concerns, Trump was diagnosed earlier this summer with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), which weakens leg veins. Given that Trump will turn 80 next year, many find it reasonable to question his health status.

During an interview this week, Vance was asked if he was ready to take over if needed. He replied, “I’ve had a lot of on-the-job training in the last 200 days, but the president is in incredibly good health. He’s got incredible energy.” He described Trump as the last to go to sleep, the first to wake, and continually working late into the night.

Despite Vance’s assurances, many found his words odd or “strange” for the vice president. Social media users debated the tone and choice of words, with some saying the phrasing sounded ominous, while others noted it was typical VP language about succession planning.

This scrutiny arises amid past criticisms Trump has directed toward political rivals over their fitness for office, especially targeting Joe Biden for alleged cognitive decline.

Trump’s niece Mary has spoken out about his mental and emotional state, describing it as a “reign of idiocy” and claiming he’s deteriorating rapidly. Experts have pointed to visible signs they say could indicate early dementia, including an unusual “leg swing” when he walks.

The White House physician, however, has described Trump as in “good health” and “fully fit” to continue his duties.

Vance’s comments come at a sensitive time for the administration, trying to manage both public perception and the health realities of an aging president. His remarks reaffirm the White House stance that Trump remains active and energetic, despite visible health concerns.
