Trump Reacts Strongly to Court Ruling Declaring His Tariffs Illegal

The controversy over Donald Trump’s tariffs continues as a U.S. appeals court ruled 7–4 that his sweeping tariffs were unconstitutional. These tariffs, which Trump had imposed unilaterally under emergency powers, were aimed at reducing America’s trade deficit by placing taxes on nearly every country’s imports. Though the court struck down this broad policy, the tariffs remain in place for now while the government prepares to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Trump responded to the ruling on his social media platform with a defiant message, declaring, “ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT!” He warned that removing the tariffs would harm the nation financially and weaken its industries. Trump urged Americans to remember that tariffs are vital tools for protecting jobs and supporting American-made products.

Critics, however, warn that enforcing these tariffs despite a court ruling could force refunds of billions and disrupt global markets. There are concerns that continuing the trade war will increase prices on everyday goods for U.S. consumers. As the debate intensifies, the future of Trump’s tariff policies hangs in the balance awaiting potential Supreme Court involvement.
