Victoria Wright entered the world like any other child but was soon to face a unique challenge. Born with cherubism, a rare genetic disorder that causes unusual bone growth in the lower face, Victoria’s condition became noticeable at age four. Doctors initially believed the condition would improve after puberty. Unfortunately, that hope was dashed as her jaw continued to grow, eventually pressing on her eyes and causing pain.
Despite surviving multiple surgeries to protect her sight, Victoria endured constant bullying and cruel stares from others throughout her childhood. At school, she was called hurtful names, and public spaces often brought unwanted attention. However, Victoria refused to let these experiences define her. Instead, she developed a resilient spirit, choosing humor and kindness as her response. Finding strength in the support of the Changing Faces charity, she gained confidence and a community who saw beyond her appearance.
Today, Victoria is not only a devoted mother but also a passionate campaigner for disability rights. She uses her story to inspire acceptance and respect for all people, regardless of how they look. Victoria’s life shows that challenges can be overcome with courage and a positive mindset.
