Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s eldest daughter, has shared an honest and candid message after severing ties with her billionaire father, who controversially claimed she was dead. Vivian, who transitioned to female, fell out with Musk after changing schools and growing distant from her father. She attended schools including Bel-Air, Ad Astra (a SpaceX employees’ school), and finally Crossroads in Santa Monica.
In an interview with The Cut, Vivian described feeling isolated socially during her school years and recounted how their relationship fractured further when she turned 18. She submitted a legal petition to change her name and gender, expressing in court that she no longer wished to be related to Musk “in any way, shape or form.”
During Musk’s campaigning for MAGA Republicans, he claimed Vivian had been “killed by the woke mind virus.” Vivian quickly refuted this on social media, emphasizing she was alive. She now lives in Los Angeles with three roommates, supporting herself financially and without an inheritance from Musk.
Vivian expressed no desire to be super-rich like her father, instead appreciating a modest life with friends, a roof, and some expendable income, which she admits many her age in Los Angeles do not enjoy. She hopes to enroll in community college soon to study languages, despite the high costs of education.
