Emma Heming Willis on First Signs of Bruce’s Dementia Linked to Die Hard Role

Emma Heming Willis, wife of Bruce Willis, has opened up about when she first sensed something was off with the action star. Married since 2009, Emma recalls noticing Bruce’s hearing loss, which she initially tied to his iconic role in Die Hard. On set, Bruce fired a gun under a table multiple times without ear protection, damaging a significant portion of his hearing.

At first, Emma believed miscommunication was caused by his hearing problems. However, over time she realized Bruce was “checking out” during conversations, a behavior later identified as a symptom of frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
