Experienced Hunters Found Dead in Colorado: New Details Emerge

Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, two 25-year-old experienced hunters, went missing during an elk hunting trip in Colorado’s Rio Grande National Forest. Last heard from on September 11, Porter had been checking in with his fiancée before contact was lost.

Their vehicle and gear were found abandoned, raising concern, especially given harsh weather conditions. A search was launched two days later, culminating in the tragic discovery of their bodies near Rio de Los Pinos Trailhead on September 18.

Conejos County Sheriff’s Office confirmed no visible injuries were found, and initial investigations ruled out foul play. The cause of death is yet to be determined, while family and search teams continue to mourn the loss of the two skilled outdoorsmen.
