Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered a stark warning at the United Nations General Assembly, cautioning world leaders about the expanding threat posed by Russia’s military aggression. Speaking amid heightened tensions caused by Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, Zelenskyy emphasized that the conflict now threatens broader European security.
“With time, Putin will keep driving the war forward, wider and deeper,” Zelenskyy said, highlighting incursions of Russian drones into NATO airspace, including multiple violations over Poland and Estonia this past month. Under NATO’s collective defense rules, these breaches trigger obligations for member states to respond.

Zelenskyy also sounded alarm on the rapid evolution of military technology, especially AI-controlled drones capable of autonomous attacks. “We are living through the most destructive arms race in history,” he noted, urging the establishment of stringent global regulations for AI weaponry comparable to nuclear non-proliferation efforts.
Despite lacking the mass of Russian hardware, Ukraine has innovated with long-range drones, which Zelenskyy announced will soon be exported to allied nations. “We are ready to make our modern weapons your modern security,” he declared, underscoring Ukraine’s commitment to defend freedom.

His speech came in the wake of President Donald Trump’s recent harsher rhetoric against Russian President Vladimir Putin, marking a notable shift in the U.S. approach to the conflict.
