In a tragic incident in India, an overworked and neglected camel brutally turned on its owner after being tied up for hours in scorching temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. The camel severed the man’s head in an event that shocked the local village and made headlines nationwide.
The incident took place in the desert district of Barmer, known for its relentless heat. On that day, the camel owner, Urjaram, left the animal bound, without water or shade, while he entertained guests indoors. Witnesses said the camel showed clear signs of distress, pacing anxiously and growling before the horrifying attack.
When Urjaram finally went to untie the camel, it erupted into a violent frenzy. Eyewitnesses described how the camel grabbed him by the neck, threw him to the ground, and attacked him fiercely, ultimately biting off his head. The villagers struggled for hours before they could restrain the enraged camel, using ropes and a truck to remove it from the scene.
Locals revealed that this wasn’t the first time there was tension between Urjaram and the camel, suggesting the attack was the result of long-standing neglect and mistreatment. Though camels are usually gentle giants valued for their strength and endurance, experts warn they can become dangerously unpredictable if pushed too far.
Despite their calm appearance, camels are powerful animals. At full size, they can weigh up to 2,200 pounds and have strong jaws capable of crushing bones, as well as lethal kicks in multiple directions. Specialists emphasize that when provoked, camels can deliver deadly bites and powerful blows, sometimes kneeling forward to trap or crush their victims.
Other fatal attacks by camels have been reported worldwide in recent years. In Siberia, a camel trampled its owner to death after being mistreated, while in Mexico a sanctuary owner nearly died after being bitten and crushed by a camel. Another incident involved two men killed after trying to capture an escaped camel from a petting zoo.
