Angelina Jolie’s Rare and Proud Words About Eldest Daughter Zahara

Angelina Jolie, renowned actress and humanitarian, has recently made a rare and heartfelt comment about her eldest daughter Zahara Jolie-Pitt, who is now 20 years old and attending Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Zahara was adopted from Ethiopia in a process that began in 2005 when Angelina first visited the country with her eldest son, Maddox. The adoption was finalized later with Brad Pitt.

Despite her famous parents, Zahara has largely stayed out of the public spotlight, making occasional appearances alongside her mother. Angelina has openly expressed pride in Zahara, praising her connection to her African heritage and her growth into an extraordinary young woman. Speaking at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her movie Couture, Angelina shared that Zahara is in her final year of university and described the experience as a “great gift” to learn from her daughter and live vicariously through her journey. Jolie described Zahara as becoming “even more of a woman, even more of a mind, even more of a thinker.”

Zahara, a student at one of the nation’s most prestigious historically Black colleges, is involved in campus life, including joining the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. Angelina supports all her children’s paths and celebrates their individuality and achievements. Zahara’s sisterhood, education, and activism reflect values deeply cherished by Angelina and her family.

Angelina’s reflections highlight the joy and pride she feels watching Zahara embrace independence, education, and leadership, seeing these personal milestones as some of the greatest successes beyond her own acting career.
