American Rare Earths Inc., a critical minerals exploration company, uncovered an enormous deposit of rare earth minerals in Wyoming, potentially reshaping the global supply landscape. In 2024, the company reported over 2.6 billion tons of JORC-compliant rare earth elements focusing on vital magnet materials including neodymium, praseodymium, samarium, dysprosium, and terbium.
These rare earth oxides are essential components in technologies ranging from smartphones and hybrid vehicles to aircraft and energy-efficient lighting.
CEO Don Schwartz described the find as “exceeding our wildest dreams,” noting the resource’s scale and quality could supply US needs for nearly a century. The project, known as Halleck Creek, is undergoing phased development aiming to reduce US reliance on foreign imports, especially from China.
With strong federal support and funding interest, American Rare Earths is advancing toward establishing a sustainable domestic critical mineral supply, crucial for future technology and defense industries.
