The incident occurred at a neighbor’s apartment in Tifton where Trey was resting, and the boys aged 12 to 15 were playing video games. Trey’s mother, Tiffany West, described the moment as a mix of shock, anger, and heartbreak as she rushed her son to a burn center in Augusta where he required surgery.
Trey is now recovering at home but faces weeks of healing and emotional challenges. His family has received community support and donations to cover medical bills. The pranksters were arrested but later released to their families while awaiting court hearings.
