Royal Expert Predicts Prince William Will Ascend the Throne Soon Amid King Charles’ Health Challenges

King Charles, who ascended to the throne at 73 after waiting more than 70 years, has been battling cancer for nearly two years. His illness has forced him to scale back some official duties and delegate engagements abroad to his son, Prince William. Despite his determination to continue his reign, his prolonged health issues have prompted speculation about abdication.

Royal historian Tessa Dunlop noted that Prince William’s increasing visibility and responsible handling of royal duties, including sensitive diplomatic visits and domestic charitable work, indicate he is ready for kingship. She described the transition as “painful” for Charles, who had longed for this role but now shares the spotlight with his son.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl emphasized that the crown “has never felt closer” to William. She praised his diplomatic skills and noted the strategic way William and Catherine prepare to lead the monarchy’s future.
