Dick Van Dyke Nears 100 and Shows How Age Is Just a Number

Dick Van Dyke is about to reach an extraordinary milestone—his 100th birthday this December. The star of Mary Poppins continues to shine brightly and stay active despite his advanced age. Earlier this year, he shared the secret to living a long, healthy life. While he rarely appears in public these days, a recent picture of him surfaced on social media, revealing just how impressive he looks.

Throughout his life, Van Dyke has been a beloved actor, comedian, writer, and television host. When asked how he maintains his fitness, he said it all comes down to consistent exercise. For decades, he’s made sure to work out three times a week, and even now at 99, he sticks to this schedule.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he described his exercise routine, which includes visits to the gym where he moves from one machine to another, sometimes dancing between exercises like a kind of circuit training. On top of that, he swims laps and takes naps to help his body recover.

As he approaches a century, Van Dyke is also launching a book called 100 Rules for Living to 100: An Optimist’s Guide to a Happy Life. The book features life lessons, stories, and reflections gathered during his long and successful career in Hollywood.

Although he prefers to keep a low profile these days, Van Dyke still lives near Los Angeles. Recently, Rick Springfield posted a photo of the two at a gym in Malibu. Springfield expressed amazement that at 99, Van Dyke was working out on every machine and even broke out into a dance step after his workout.

Dick Van Dyke proves that with the right attitude and habits, age truly can be just a number. What do you think is the secret to a long life? Share your thoughts in the comments.
