Christina Derevjanik Wins Biggest Prize in Wheel of Fortune History

Christina Derevjanik from Stamford, Connecticut, made history on Tuesday night’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, winning $1,035,155—the largest prize ever awarded on the game show. This makes her the first contestant since Ryan Seacrest took over hosting to win over a million dollars and only the fifth ever to hit that mark.

During the game, Derevjanik picked up $35,155 in cash and prizes, including trips to Montana and Tokyo. In the bonus round, she chose the “Living Things” category and solved the final puzzle, “PACK OF COYOTES.” The moment host Ryan Seacrest confirmed her million-dollar win was met with cheers, confetti, and the delight of co-host Vanna White.

Overwhelmed, Christina joked about quitting her job but later said she intends to pay off student loans and possibly buy a home.
