Nicole Kidman Opens Up About Filming Intense Scenes in ‘Babygirl’

Nicole Kidman recently shared how filming intimate scenes in her new movie, “Babygirl,” pushed her beyond her limits. At one point during the shoot, she had to pause because she felt overwhelmed and said she “didn’t want to orgasm anymore.” The 58-year-old actress revealed this while chatting on The Graham Norton Show, explaining that the role challenged her but also excited her to explore a bold new character.

In the film, Kidman plays a high-powered businesswoman who embarks on a passionate and risky affair with her much younger intern, portrayed by Harris Dickinson. The story was inspired by a real-life account of a woman who never experienced an orgasm during her 25-year marriage. The movie explores complex themes of desire, consent, and vulnerability, with Kidman delivering an intense and praised performance.

Despite the deep connection and trust she built with co-stars, filming the steamy scenes was emotionally exhausting. Kidman described moments of frustration, admitting there were times when she felt overwhelmed and needed to stop the take. She joked about not wanting to be touched anymore, revealing how demanding the scenes were both physically and mentally.

The film has been well-received, earning critical acclaim and multiple awards, including a Best Actress win at the Venice Film Festival. “Babygirl” also sparked conversations about women’s sexuality and the balance between performance and real vulnerability in movies.
