Ex-College Football Star Julian Fleming Charged Following Fatal ATV Accident

Julian Fleming, a former standout wide receiver for Ohio State and Penn State, has been charged months after a tragic ATV crash killed his girlfriend, 23-year-old Alyssa Boyd. The incident occurred in May in Columbia Township, Pennsylvania, when Fleming was driving an ATV with Boyd as a passenger. According to police reports, a deer suddenly ran into the road causing Fleming to lose control, resulting in the fatal crash.

Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene, while Fleming sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. Neither was wearing protective gear at the time. Court filings indicate Fleming’s blood alcohol content was between 0.10 and 0.16 percent, above the state’s legal limit of 0.08. He surrendered to Pennsylvania State Police on October 8 and now faces charges including vehicular homicide, DUI, and aggravated assault.

Fleming’s defense attorney maintains the crash was a tragic accident and argues Fleming did nothing illegal, claiming the deer’s sudden appearance was unavoidable. Fleming, 24, had recently completed a collegiate football career, transferring from Ohio State to Penn State for his final season and hoped to join the NFL. His focus has now shifted to facing the legal consequences stemming from the fatal accident.
