Behind Dylan O’Brien’s Public LGBTQ+ Support: A Sibling’s Perspective

While Dylan O’Brien has been vocal about supporting the trans community through his work in “Ponyboi” and interviews, his sibling Julz reveals a more complicated family reality. The transmasculine individual recently shared on Instagram that they haven’t heard from their famous brother in over a year, including during major milestones.

This contrasts sharply with Dylan’s January 2024 interview where he called having a trans sibling “deepening” to his worldview. Julz responded pointedly to a Gay Times article celebrating these remarks: “He didn’t check in when I had top surgery [in December] or wish me happy birthday.”

Social media analysis shows the siblings haven’t appeared together online since July 2023, despite Dylan’s public persona as an LGBTQ+ ally through projects like the River Gallo-led “Ponyboi.”
