Ayden Beeson’s life was cut tragically short just weeks after being named his high school’s Prom King. The 17-year-old drowned in Rathbun Lake on June 26, 2024, after disappearing beneath the water’s surface. Despite an immediate search by emergency crews, his body was recovered an hour later in 15 to 20 feet of water.
Ayden was a star athlete at Centerville High School, playing both football and tennis, and was known for his warm personality and kindness. His sudden death has left his school and community in mourning.
Superintendent Mark Taylor expressed the collective grief, calling Ayden a “popular kid who was kind to everyone.” His tennis coach, Tyler Baze, also shared an emotional tribute, praising Ayden’s dedication and character.
