Heartbreak has swept through the University of Wyoming after a horrific crash claimed the lives of three student-athletes. Carson Muir, Charlie Clark, and Luke Slabber—members of the swimming and diving team—were killed when their car rolled off a highway near the Colorado border.
The accident, which occurred Friday afternoon, also injured two teammates, though they were released from the hospital with minor injuries. Colorado State Patrol confirmed the vehicle left the road and overturned multiple times, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
University President Ed Seidel called the loss “unthinkable,” while Athletic Director Tom Burman emphasized the availability of counseling for students and staff. Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon extended his condolences, acknowledging the profound impact on the campus and state.
As the community comes together to mourn, the tragedy underscores the unpredictable nature of life—and the importance of cherishing every moment.
