Driving through rural Arkansas during a downpour, a tourist noticed something peculiar—a man sitting on his porch playing fiddle while rain poured down around him. Pulling over, the visitor called out, “Why aren’t you inside on a day like this?”
“My roof leaks,” the fiddler answered simply, continuing to play as water dripped around him.
“Well why don’t you fix it then?” the tourist reasonably asked.
The musician paused his playing to explain, “Can’t fix a roof in the rain.”
The tourist, thinking he had the solution, suggested, “Then fix it when the sun’s out!”
The fiddler smiled knowingly as he resumed playing. “On sunny days, the roof doesn’t leak!” Some problems solve themselves—or at least provide good excuses to enjoy the outdoors regardless of weather.
