Erika Kirk, widowed after the assassination of her husband Charlie Kirk in September 2025, has shared a poignant story about her three-year-old daughter’s innocent question following the tragedy. In a heartfelt video, Erika revealed that she has yet to explain to her young children that their father won’t be coming back. Instead, she told her daughter that Charlie was on a “work trip with Jesus.”
Erika spoke of Charlie’s courage, faith, and deep love for their children and each other, saying, “My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children.” She recounted a tender moment when her daughter, Gigi, ran into her arms, asking, “Where’s Daddy?” to which Erika replied with reassurance and a touch of humor that her father was taking care of her “blueberry budget” from heaven.
