Rebecca Gayheart, wife of Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, has shared a heartfelt look into how their family is coping with Dane’s ALS diagnosis. Dane revealed in April 2025 that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive degenerative disease affecting nerve cells and muscle control.
Speaking at the Step Up 2025 Inspiration Awards, Rebecca expressed the emotional toll the diagnosis has taken on their family, especially their two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13. She shared, “We have some professional therapists who are helping us, and we’re just trying to have some hope and do it with dignity, grace and love.”
Rebecca described the period as “heartbreaking” and acknowledged how their children are deeply affected, emphasizing their daily effort to adjust to the “new normal.”
