Nicole Kidman has formally filed for divorce from husband Keith Urban after nearly 20 years of marriage. Following months of separation since early summer 2025, court documents reveal Kidman’s request to be the primary residential parent of their two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
According to the filings obtained by People, Kidman would have custody for 306 days a year, while Urban would spend 59 days with their daughters. Both parties agreed to a mutual no-disparagement clause, pledging to encourage a positive relationship between their children and both parents.
Though Urban reportedly initiated the separation and moved out to a new Nashville residence, sources say Kidman has been dedicated to maintaining stability for the family during this difficult time. Insiders also speculate that Kidman’s recent grief over her mother’s passing and Urban’s discomfort with some of Kidman’s film roles contributed to growing distance.
