Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada’s disappearance in 2009 shocked his family and community. The 25-year-old, who worked at a No Frills supermarket in Council Bluffs, Iowa, vanished one winter night after fleeing his home in a distressed state. The mystery was solved in 2019 when workers dismantling the closed supermarket discovered his body wedged in an 18-inch gap behind a refrigerator unit. DNA testing confirmed his identity six months later. Investigators believe he climbed atop the freezers and accidentally fell into the space, becoming trapped.
