Twelve-year-old Zemfira Mukhtarov tragically lost her life while subway surfing in Brooklyn, New York City. Zemfira was found unconscious near the Williamsburg station early on October 4 and later pronounced dead. Videos she posted on TikTok showed her performing dangerous stunts, including lying on subway tracks shortly before the fatal accident.
According to her mother Nataliya Rudenko, Zemfira snuck out late at night despite parental warnings. The thrill-seeking girl was obsessed with filming and posting daring videos online. Zemfira was just two weeks away from turning 13.
Investigators believe Zemfira and her 13-year-old friend Ebba Morina, who also died, planned the adventure after connecting on social media. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by Zemfira’s family to cover funeral expenses and honor her memory.
