Dannion Brinkley’s story sounds like something from a Hollywood script – struck by lightning, dead for 28 minutes, then revived with an incredible tale to tell. But for Brinkley, this was just the beginning of his understanding about what happens when we die.
The lightning bolt that nearly killed him in 1975 instead gave him what he calls “the ultimate perspective shift.” While doctors worked to revive his body, Brinkley describes floating above the scene, then being drawn toward a brilliant light. “There were beings there,” he explains, “who helped me understand that every action, every word has consequences we can’t imagine.”
Brinkley would go on to have two more near-death experiences during medical emergencies, each adding depth to his understanding. Now he shares his story to comfort others, insisting that death isn’t an end, but a transformation.
