The Riches of Kindness

Richard was dying. With no family, he needed to find someone to inherit his empire. So, he posed as a homeless man and walked into his own company.

The guard shoved him away. “Scram, bum!”

But Nancy, a low-level assistant, stopped. “Sir, can I help you?”

She bought him lunch, ignoring the stares. When her boss, Tom, berated her, she didn’t back down. “Everyone deserves dignity,” she said.

The next day, the lawyer called Nancy into a meeting.

“You’re the new owner,” he said.

Stunned, she read Richard’s letter:

“Nancy, I searched for someone with a good heart. You were the only one who showed me kindness. The company is yours. And fire Tom—he’s earned it.”
